The following
information provides you with some general guidelines for the time
required by the certification office
to respond to inquires and certification applications.
During our non-peak season, the months of
October through April, the timelines for response to e-mail inquiries
and applications for certification are as follows:
- E-mails are generally responded to
within 5 to 7 business days. Our e-mail address is: teacher.cert@ct.gov.
- Applications are reviewed in the order
they are received and within 4 to 6 weeks from the date of receipt
in our office.
- Once applications are reviewed, if
additional credentials are needed, applicants are contacted in
writing.
- Each time additional credentials are
submitted, a new credential evaluation requires an additional
3 to 4 weeks.
- Once the credential review process
is completed, approximately 3 to 4 weeks should be allowed for
processing certificates from the date the certificate is issued
to the date when the certificate is mailed.
Please note that during peak season, the
months of May through September, certification processing timelines
may be double those indicated above.
